Influences
I studied Fine Art at
Edinburgh University and specialised in drawing and sculpture. Tutors
included George Mancini, Bill Scott, William Brotherstone and Vincent
Butler.
Painting and
Sculpture
When I moved
to Cambridge I developed my sculpture and worked on portrait and figure commissions.
More
recently in Unpainted Pictures I
have concentrated on drawing and painting, all worked to a
level of perfect incompletion. I aim to capture a fleeting moment of
observation with bold contrasts of light and dark. Think of bright
sunlight and deep dark shadows.
Doing
and Teaching
I
seem always to have been teaching, even when I was at University. I
have taught in schools and colleges and currently teach classes for students
and adults including the popular Life Drawing at Anglia Ruskin University. More
information in Cambridge
Life Drawing.
I often
open my studio to the public. Take a
tour of 2005!
